Who is Ewan?

Hello, I'm the publisher of Frontier Profile.

I've spent 25 years running technology and digital change inside banks, and the last few putting AI into production there.

I was Group Chief Digital Officer at Nordea, the largest bank in Northern Europe where, amongst other things, we launched dozens of 'old AI' (i.e. machine learning) implementations into production, including what I think was Northern Europe's first banking chatbot.

I went on to be Chief Transformation Officer at Sohar International Bank in Oman. Before that I was one of the team supervising Digital Transformation at Royal Bank of Scotland/NatWest, including the UK's first Apple Pay launch.

Today I'm an advisor to banks, government institutions and enterprises in the UK and the Gulf on AI and digital transformation through Beacon58. I co-founded this with Holly Joint, home of the AI Fluency programme - do check that out. I'm also President of the City CIO Club, an invitation-only forum for CIOs and CTOs in the City of London.

Finally I'm External Faculty for quite a few institutions including the likes of the Walbrook Institute (formerly London Institute of Banking & Finance), Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance and the Qatar Finance & Business Academy.

I have been publishing FinTech Profile since 2015, Conversational AI News in 2023 and Mobile Industry Review since 2006 (although I'm a lot more relaxed with that now).
